Dinosaur Provincial Park (DPP) is situated east of Highway 876, approximately 48 km northeast of Brooks, Alberta. Established in 1955 and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, the 8,086-hectare park encompasses Canada’s largest badlands and one of the world’s most significant dinosaur fossil fields. Access to the park is exclusively provided via Township Road 210A (the "Primary Road"), a paved two-lane thoroughfare. This critical infrastructure sits atop soft Late Cretaceous bedrock sediments belonging to the Dinosaur Park and Oldman Formations.
