The Inspections Unit of the Ministry of Finance (“the Ministry”) requires lone worker devices and associated live monitoring services to support staff conducting unannounced inspections across Ontario. These inspections are a key compliance and enforcement activity aimed at deterring tax evasion and other non-compliance under the Fuel Tax Act, Gasoline Tax Act, and Tobacco Tax Act. The Ministry is issuing this Request for Information (“RFI”) to seek market information regarding commercially available lone worker devices and associated live monitoring services to support approximately 28 inspectors conducting field inspections throughout Ontario.
