The City of Inglewood’s Facility Repair and Construction Division (Facilities) is soliciting bids from qualified and licensed contractors for the removal and replacement of existing storefront window systems at the historically significant Veterans Memorial Building located at 328 Centinela Avenue, Inglewood, California 90302. The project consists of the demolition and disposal of existing steel window systems and associated components, including the furnishing and installation of new aluminum storefront windows, glazing systems, and related improvements. The intent of this project is to improve the facility's safety, energy efficiency, weather resistance, functionality, and overall appearance while preserving the building's operational integrity. All work must be performed by licensed and experienced contractors in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local building codes, safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards. Facilities is responsible for the maintenance, repair, renovation, and replacement of building systems and infrastructures. The Veterans Memorial Building is a significant and historic public facility, and its current steel-framed windows exhibit corrosion, reduced weather resistance, diminished energy performance, and potential safety concerns. The City seeks to replace the existing storefront windows with modern aluminum storefront systems that preserve the building’s architectural character, while meeting current building code and historic preservation requirements.
