Description

Defence Research and Development Canada has a THS requirement due to a Temporary Workload Increase (that its resolution is known to take less than 48 weeks). There is a substantial increase in workload associated with meeting the Chief of Defence Staff’s (CDS) recently enunciated Urgent Operational Requirement (UOR) for the acquisition and operational deployment of various new fixed-site and vehicle-mounted RF-based and Radar-enabled Counter Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-UAS) by Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) personnel. However, during the period immediately following the identification of this UOR, the existing number of available qualified public servants has been insufficient to support the requisite extended development, engineering, and field T&E activities necessary to address this requirement. DRDC has an essential requirement for one (1) senior strategist to support the Counter Autonomous Systems Program Manager. The resource will support the preparation and implementation of domestic and International Project Arrangements (PAs) dedicated to accelerating the final engineering development and field trial Test and Evaluation (T&E) of selected new Electronic Warfare (EW)-related and Radio Frequency (RF)-based C-UAS capabilities.
