Radon Measurement Device Evaluation 2026 - 2031

Health Canada requires services to ensure that radon measurement devices available in Canada are evaluated for their performance on an annual basis. This is to ensure that any new entrants to the marketplace are evaluated within a reasonable timeframe to ensure they meet minimum performance standards. As a result of this service the vendor will produce a series of publicly available consumer reports on commercially available electronic radon testing devices to ensure the findings of these tests are communicated with consumers. Health Canada will use the information to review testing guidelines, recommendations and protocols. The scope of this work encompasses the development and ongoing administration of a performance evaluation and testing program for radon measurement devices commercially available to Canadian consumers. The work must be designed to assess device performance under conditions that reflect how residents would realistically deploy and use such devices in their homes, ensuring that test results are representative of actual indoor radon activity concentrations.
