Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) requires coastal imaging services in support of the Canadian Coast Guard's Area Response Planning (ARP) initiative under the Oceans Protection Plan (OPP) 2.0. The objective of this project is to apply imaging methodologies consistent with the ShoreZone Coastal Imaging and Habitat Mapping Protocol (Cook et al., 2017) to expand existing coastal habitat datasets in southern Nova Scotia. The work will involve the acquisition of coastal imagery and video data along approximately 1,750 km of Nova Scotia coastline, beginning near Lobster Bay and extending northward toward Halifax. The resulting data will support oil spill preparedness, planning, and response activities by improving the availability of geographically specific coastal habitat information. Contractors must conduct all imaging and video collection in accordance with the ShoreZone Coastal Imaging and Habitat Mapping Protocol and the requirements specified in the solicitation documents. Complete details of the requirement are contained in the Request for Proposal (RFP) documents.
