By means of this Request for Standing Offers (RFSO), Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is seeking professional translation and comparative editing services from French to English, English to French, or to/from Indigenous languages and other foreign languages, in accordance with the Official Languages Act and Indigenous Languages Act. Using a variety of media suitable to the purpose of the communication, NRCan routinely communicates in English and in French with senior management within the department, managers, human resource advisors, union officials and employees at the corporate, national, regional and local levels, as well as with personnel from other government departments and agencies, the private sector and the public. The initial period is from date of issuance of the Standing Offers to March 31, 2027. Up to five (5) Standing Offers (SO’s) per stream will be issued for an initial period of one (1) year. NRCan reserves the right to exercise the option to extend the standing offer(s) for up to four (4) additional periods of one (1) year. For the purposes of this RFSO, Offerors may submit an offer on one or multiple streams. Stream 1 – General; Stream 2 – Technical; Stream 3 – Indigenous Languages; and Stream 4 – Other Foreign Languages. For Stream 3 only, this procurement is set aside under the federal government Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business. For more information on Aboriginal business requirements of the Set-aside Program for Aboriginal Business, refer to Annex 9.4 of the Supply Manual. This procurement is set aside from the international trade agreements under the provision each has for measures with respect to Aboriginal peoples or for set-asides for small and minority businesses.
